ABOUT ROUGE WOODS RICHMOND HILL
Rouge Woods gets its name from the Rouge River which traverses this neighbourhood. The Woods part of the name would make reference to the abundant parkland that dots this neighbourhood. There are ten parks and seven schools in this neighbourhood including the highly ranked Bayview Secondary School which offers the International Baccalaureate program.
This neighbourhood also boast three shopping centres. Rouge Woods is a mature neighbourhood however it is still experiencing some new home development along its north border at Bayview Avenue and Elgin Mills Road.
Rouge Woods Community Centre located at 110 Shirley Drive has an indoor gymnasium and community meeting rooms. The rear of the centre has a large outdoor greenspace with a soccer field, four tennis courts and a basketball court.
