LANGSTAFF SCHOOLS & PARKS
ABOUT LANGSTAFF RICHMOND HILL
Langstaff is bound by 16th Avenue to the north, highway 7 to the south, Yonge street on the west, and Bayview Avenue on the east. German Mills Creek and the Richmond Hill Go Train line both wind their way through this neighborhood. This is a high-density neighbourhood with big plans to become the downtown urban centre for the Town of Richmond Hill.
This transition is already underway with a plethora of new condominium buildings being built along Yonge Street. With the population about to boom Langstaff has attracted an impressive list of retailers who have set up shop just south of High-Tech Road including a
Wal-Mart Supercenter, Staples, Loblaw’s, Home Depot and GoodLife Fitness, just to name a few.
The Langstaff Gateway development in the Yonge Street and Highway 7 is considered one of the most important transit hubs in the Greater Toronto Area. This is where commuter highways, Go Train service, local York region and VIVA transit and the TTC all meet up and converge to form a tangled network of commuter options that extend all the way south to Toronto’s Union station.
In the ensuing years the Langstaff Gateway corridor that we see today will be vastly different as new infrastructure gets built and beautification projects such as new parks are constructed.
